Hi there, I'm Sarah, and I have worked professionally with many families over the past 12 years. My work with families/children/adolescents over the years has led me to focus on early childhood (0-5) as an important window for early intervention in families.
As a therapist/course facilitator, I provide a calm, relaxed, safe, non-judgmental, confidential space, where together, we can explore your hopes and concerns. I am trained in a range of evidence based approaches, and as such, I can work with you to find the right fit for you and your family.
My life changed forever when I myself became a parent. I am now a mother of 4 (including a surprise set of twins!!). As such, I can really relate to the madness and mayhem of family life. The sleep deprivation, the sheer exhaustion, and endless hours of work. I get the identity transition to parenting, and the way your relationship with your partner evolves through the highs and lows of family life. I readily admit to being an imperfect parent and strongly believe that children do not need us 'perfect', just willing to reflect on our struggles and learn through our experiences.
My name is Sharon Pitman and I am passionate about equipping and empowering people to flourish in life.
I have been married for 32 years and have two adult children, 25 & 27 years of age. I have worked for many years in the children and families sector.
I am an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and work across all ages and with multiple issues including perinatal, anxiety, depression, loss and grief, trauma, parenting and behavioural challenges.
I am a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers (Member No. 434806), and NDIS Provider and ATAPS Provider.
I am a trained couple and family therapist and incorporate Gottman therapeutic interventions when working with couples.
I also thoroughly enjoy working with children. We have loads of fun!
